Daughter Stabs Naval Officer Father During Domestic Dispute in Sattahip

SATTAHIP, Thailand – An 18-year-old girl is in police custody after allegedly stabbing her father, a Royal Thai Navy officer, with a pair of scissors during a severe domestic altercation at their residence in Sattahip district.

Authorities were alerted to the violent incident at approximately 9:50 p.m. on August 6. Plutaluang Police Superintendent Pol Col Wutthiphong Somjai led officers to the scene, accompanied by emergency medical personnel from the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital and local rescue volunteers. Upon entering the home, responders discovered blood splattered across the floor and the 52-year-old victim, identified as Chief Petty Officer Chat, lying in a pool of blood.

The naval officer sustained lacerations to his arm and a deep stab wound to his lower left ribcage, resulting in significant blood loss. First responders administered immediate first aid before rushing him to the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Investigators recovered a blood-stained pair of scissors from the scene, which has been seized as primary evidence in the ongoing investigation.

The suspect, who is the victim’s daughter, was discovered standing outside the residence in a state of visible shock and fear. According to preliminary statements provided by the injured officer before his hospitalization, a verbal disagreement between the father and daughter rapidly escalated into a physical struggle while the two were alone in the house. The victim’s wife was reportedly away working in nearby Pattaya at the time of the attack.

Law enforcement officials noted that the teenager has a documented history of depression and a pattern of prior disputes with her father. She has been taken into custody for comprehensive questioning. Police intend to record a formal, detailed statement from the naval officer regarding the attack once his medical condition stabilizes, which will guide the subsequent legal proceedings.
